Hello all, glad to be a part of the forum!

I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy 2dr. 4x4. Only bells and whistles so far is the stereo system that I'm working on installing. I joined the forum as I have many questions about achieving better gas mileage out of the 4300 along with some general performance and suspension tips and tricks. I would like to eventually lift it a little, nothing too major, but enough to put 16" wheels and tires on it without having to worry about clearances. Some help finding 16" wheels to fit would be helpful as well. I'll get on the threads shortly, thanks and I hope to be a meaningful addition to the site soon.

WELCOME!!!

16inch wheels... I believe some Iroc wheels are 16in wheels... and guess what THEY BOLT UP!

The only thing with clearance is the tire choice....

As for the stereo... I am curious to see your install... Go ahead and enjoy all the helpful threads!

Thanks for the welcome! I hadn't thought about the IROC wheels, though a set would probably be nearly as much as aftermarket ones. Either way not a bad idea at all. The tires I'd like to run are LT245 Goodyear Duratrac's. I have a set of 265's on my work truck and love them. They're wearing VERY well, not very noisy at all, ride good and perform great in adverse conditions. I can get P235's on my 15" wheels but I'd rather have a little extra width for some of the creek's and fields I cross on a regular basis. As for the stereo, I'll be glad to post some pics as I get it completed. I have a Kenwood KDC-X492 HU in it now with Phoenix Gold RSD components running off the HU. I have a set of Image Dynamics CTX65 components to go in it, Sundown SAX-125.2 and SAZ-1500 amplifiers and three Sundown SA-8 subwoofers to get installed as soon as time allows. I spent most of my summer getting the stereo equipment installed in my wife's van so I'm scrambling to get things ready for the Jimmy now before it gets too cold.

On the note of the stereo. I'm a member of several car audio forums, and have been doing custom installation and design work for about 12 years. So I'm definitely here to help in that regard for anyone who needs it.
