Talking 1998 blazer needs roof/cargo rack

I just picked up a 98 blazer it came without the factory roof rack but I want to add some kind of roof or cargo rack! What are my options? EBay? I'm guessing I'm going to have to drill into my roof at one point? Thx for the suggestions in advance!!

go to a junk yard and get one off of a blazer that has one, that'd be your cheapest rout. I believe there are companies that make aftermarket ones like yakima but those are probably pricy

I will sell you a roof rack from a 1998 4 door... 3250, and comes with a parts vehicle

I would love to man but I got a killer deal on my blazer with 142k all maintenance records and brand new all terrains for $2200 so it makes no sense to spend 3250 on a parts blazer.

You can just drill through the roof and bolt it on. The stock rack has a welded nut underneath so that you don't need any tools on the inside to remove it. I bolted a secondary yakima bike rack to the roof and it's plenty strong (if not stronger than the stock one)

The edges of the roof have some extra support that could make it tight to get a nut or wrench in but it shouldn't be too difficult.

What about just using some self tapping screws so I don't have to pull the headliner?

self tapping screws may not be as strong as bolting it to the roof. if you plan on putting a lot of stuff there, the rack may pull off the roof with self tappers, roof racks flying off are not fun... I had that happen to my roof basket driving on the highway at 60 mph good thing I sodered the wires to my roof lights so it kept it from completely flying off.

Self Tapping screws?????? Really bad Idea bro. As soon as you throw anything up on top the wind will rip that thing right off. Pull liner and bolt it on for sure bro.
