For mounting, I used the original mount points for the dome light in the rear.. in the front used epoxy to mount a piece or wood (1"x1"x1/4") to screw into.. Ill try to get pics of this when I get the truck back from having the suspension/steering components replaced......

As far as wiring goes, the only difference is 2 extra wires for mpg info...

Wiring - well as mine is anyways

Black w White - Ground - Use any mount point on the roof
Green - ACC/Switched Power - Yellow ACC Power wire for the radio
Green w Black - Air Temp - Goes to the temp sensor
Green w White - VSS - Brown wire from the ECM (A10)
Grey (dimmer) and Purple (lcd dimmer) - Dimmer - Grey dinner wire for the radio

the 2 extra for mpg info

Yellow - Trip Computer - NEED ECM from the correct car
Orange - Constant Power

And for the lights

white - door switch - grab from overhead light
orange - constant power - grab from overhead light
use a test light for which is which, but these should be the only 2 wires there
black - ground - use any mount point on the roof

the VSS is the only problem wire.. Took me a while to find the CORRECT wire, as it seems most people want to use the cruise control wire (which technically works, but is a bad idea if you use your cruise control)..... I do not have the 2 wires for mpg data ran to anything.. I get temp and compass without them (all mpg info shows "--")

If you have any other questions, just ask

the lights are the only thing my OC has. Therefor, is there a plug on the factory dome light that will allow me to plug the OC into? Or will I need to splice into the white and orange wires and run a ground?

I grabbed a pigtail and direct wired that into the factory wiring, except for the ground, which will need to be a new wire...

I just did this yesterday, I snagged the basic one out of a 97 with just temp and compass for $8, got it back and installed, had to recalibrate the compass, and I had a brain fart at the junkyard, went off and didn't get the sensor. lol. went back and got 4 of them, two read wayyy off (one was 15deg and the other was about 120deg. and two was right on the money. total spent for the project was about $12. I had been looking at that panel in my console thinking of what to do with it until I read this topic.

Wont a blazer without a stock OC still have the front roof support? Which is the same mounting point on one with the stock OC? SO then cant you just use a self tapping screw and not have to use a block of wood?

Came across another concern...I removed the plastic cover on my dome light to begin looking into swapping..... However the dome light doesnt appear to be screwed in, instead it looks like some sort of rivet or something? Has anyone come across this? And how do you remove them, so you can still reinstall the dome light if you'd want to?
