Default 2.8 duramax swap?

What do you guys think about a 2.8 duramax in our platform? I feel like it would be the perfect swap! Good power, great fuel economy, decent aftermarket. I know I could go cheaper dropping a 5.3 in it or a newer 4.3 ecotec, but when you look at the stats it just looks like something to make it stand out

It would be pretty cool but I suspect it would be a very expensive swap. Another diesel swap isCummins is now offering their 2.8L baby diesel as an aftermarket replacement kit (targeted primarily at Jeeps) but they're quite expensive. Very cool, but expensive.

The duramax is cheaper than Cummins 2.8 repower. The dmax also makes alot more torque as well. It also has a bigger aftermarket

If your goal is to go diesel, a 4BT would likely be cheaper, easier to install, and more easily modded for all of the pros mentioned in the OP although they are heavy and not as refined.

4bt is just sooo heavy, less efficient, and tall you'll need a body lift. Still good power though. Good aftermarket. Alot more info on swapping the 4bt

What about one of those diesels out of a Nissan Titan? That would be a beast if it would fit.

5.0 cummins would be nice, I know it would be much higher on the expense side. Little big, but you can make anything fit
