Our scrappers won't take them without a title, I guess they don't want burnt for taking a stolen vehicle.

You can contact a bonding company a purchase a bond through them and once you have the bonding paperwork in your name you can go to the DMV and get the truck titled in your name.The bond is pretty much an insurance policy that would pay anyone that might possibly come forward and say the truck was theirs in the following 6-12 months typically.The truck would be yours no matter what it just assures the DMV that nothing falls on them for titling it to you.just make sure you get a binding bill of sales from the kid.hope this helps.ive done this once before and the bond cost me $150 very easy to do also.
