Default 99 zr2 blazer shackle install/replace

I have been searching through the forum but havent found a good answer.

I just got some longer shackles for my 99 zr2 blazer. I have very recently replaced the leaf springs so those bolts should not be a problem to get out but I am wondering how easy the top bolts will come up.

The problem with the spring bolts was that the metal ring on the inside of the spring bushing was stuck to the old bolt and I had to cut out the bolts. I am hoping with no spring, no bushing and aside from the nut coming off rough, the bolts will come out fairly easy. I have noticed that the top bolts seem hard to get at due to the gas tank, fenders and muffler.

Does anyone have experience with this? My 2 main concerns are 1 how easy are the bolts going to come out and 2 how easy is it going to be to get at them.
Also if any one knows any tricks / has any advice, any and all comments suggestions welcome. Thanks

Default RE: 99 zr2 blazer shackle install/replace

I started on the job. The passenger side nut came off real easy. That bolt though, I dont see any way to get that bolt out at all. There is almost no room to even get a hammer in there to try to knock the bolt through and the other side is even worse. Any ideas?
