Default Rear shock change

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't find the thread.
I'm wondering when I remove the rear shocks, how much is the rear axle going to drop? I'm concerned I might rip the rear brake line.

Um. It will drop until the tires touch ground... I had my truck jacked up and resting on jack stands (frame) and just left the jack in place but let off the tension to support the axel a bit, but not put too much tension on the shocks. i had no problems and i'm mechanically challanged.

haha, ok cool. that's what i expected to do, just didn't know if the leaf springs would hold the axle a bit. but i'll put the jack under the rear differential and release tension as needed
