rear shock install problem
bought new monroe reflex shocks for rear, i got the old one off, but cant seem to get the bottom of the new shock to slide on, it wont go on, i almost think i got the wrong shock, i took some pics, theres a metal ring in the center oif new shocks and rubber around that, the old one i took off has no metal ring in the center. did the ring part stay on the bolt or what. on the lower bolt it looks like a permanet ring there,

RE: rear shock install problem
solved, called a friend he saw the pics, and was sure that piece comes off, well he was right, i had a tough time getting it off, i used a shark edged punch and a hammer, and kept hammering at the slot at the top, then I finally got it loose enough to get it off, my 1999 blazer has 235,000 km on her, and the rear shocks had been on there for a long time, they where white in color for the rear they where so hard to get off, I found the front much easier but they werent white.. I also torched the bolt for a bit to help loosen it up, dont know if it helped.... ANyway rides a thousand times better with four new shocks, hope this post helps someone down the line....
