Default Torsion bar question?

Ok so I had to replace the drivers lower control arm due to the sway bar mounting welds failed. Yeah I could of rewelded it but for $20 at the junk yard I couldn't pass it up.

Anyways after I replaced it I noticed when adjusting the bolt on the torsion bar that I had to tighten it all the way and still noticed that the ride wasn't level. So I think that when I installed the lower control arm I may have indexed the torsion into the lower control arm wrong. Without redoing it all over again is there a easier way to fix this? Can I just put a longer bolt in place of the factory bolt to achieve proper ride height?

Let me know on your guys input.

Thanks

Johnny

To answer your question, no, you cannot just install a longer bolt. You really need to remove the bar and index it properly.

So can I just loosen the one side, pull it back out of the lower control arm. Or should I just loosen the lower control arm and reindex it that way?

I am pretty sure you have to take out the control arm to reindex the torsion bar. I just replaced mine a few weeks ago for the exact same weld break. If I knew how to weld I would have just welded it to avoid all the trouble. Plus mine just started to pull to the left. I was waiting to do a front end alignment until after I add the lift schackles in back, but of course, those bolt are stuck. Anyway good luck.
