low cost lift - need advice here
i was at autozone and found some 2" lift kits on the shelf. they are made as basically a spacer that is installed to gain a little room. they were cheap though. the front set was about $25 and the rear was around $35. the fronts seamed to be 2 sets of rods that had holes drilled in them, they would simply bolt in place. then the back was a bunch of U bolts and some spacer blocks. Are these usable, reliable? will they gimme that lil bit of space i want for my 17" rims?

First off, what kind of Blazer is it, year, 2wd or 4wd, S-10 Blazer or K5 Blazer? just need a little more information to go on, then we can give you lots of help.
Since you have 97 in your username, I'm going to assume you have a 97, if so, then you have the IFS (independent front suspension), the only way to lift the front is by cranking the torsion bars a little, or buying a complete kit with bracketry for the taller lifts. "the fronts seemed to be 2 sets of rods that had holes drilled in them" those sound like longer shackles for the front leaf springs on solid axle trucks, which will not work on an IFS truck.

ok, then its definitely an S-10 Blazer, K5 is the fullsize. What did the packaging for the front ones say? The only way to lift the front just a little without a kit is to crank the torsion bars up a little. There is a post recently in the Suspension section, or the Tires section.
