Default Automatic to manual

Ive been in the process of swapping my 85 4x4 over to a 5 speed for a few weeks now. I have every part i need (new clutch, master cyl, slave cyl ect..) Ive just mounted the pedal assembly from the donor truck and I'm trying to find the best way to measure out my hole for the master cylinder to mount? There is no "notch" or plate on the firewall (of course, that would be too easy) I didnt get a good enough look from the donor truck seeing as though it was 100+ degrees and it was already removed.

All in all this swap has been pretty easy and straight forward. It was a pain at first but i just had to plan out each step. The pedals were god awful! Breaking the exhaust bolts aren't fun either. anyways if anyone has any advice/input/experience with this id much appreciate it

I think the best bet would be to hit the wreckers, and start taking some measurements. It would be the quickest/most accurate way. A digital camera would help, as well!
