1994 s10 blazer. cap, rotor, plugs, wires, map sensor, tps, all new. cat was gutted.
before i replaced the cpi, it would fire up and idle fine. no power after about 2000 rpm. replaced cpi. the first one leaked fuel into #3 cyl. causing hydro lock.
replaced cpi again. pulled all plugs cleanded and dryed. plugs stayed out about half hour, cranked it over to remove excess gas.
truck fires up idles like crap, but on the road it runs pretty good, no more hesitation. checked the best i could for vac. leaks checked #2 and # 1 plugs only. both firing fine. drove it for about 15 miles ... rebooted pcm by pulling positive cable off batt.
cant get the check engine lite to come on again. did not idle this way before i replaced the cpi. im at a total loss now. i have done the manual cross to get a code but to no avail. starts good after i pulled cable, will idle but very rough. it will smooth out with higher rpms. where before you couldnt rev it up.
please help. it has to be something simple i missed. but i dont know what

Mines the same way, replaced the spider twice and still can't figure out why it idles rough. Runs fine otherwise besides getting crappy gas mileage. One thing I have noticed is the running fuel pressure is 52 psi, static leak down and key on pressure(60 psi) seem good. Everything I have read says 52 psi is low, these engines like the running pressure around 54-56. Having 217k miles on the engine could be a source of the idle problems but my bigger concern right now is taming the MPG monster.

Ive heard of people turning the screw on the side of the FPR to bring the spressure up. Ive never done it myself, wouldnt hurt to try I guess.

ok, just by chance i tested the iac, no prob there. then in my frustration .... i said screw it ... im gunna pull the egr off. keeping in mind that the thing had hydro locked with fuel ... thus washing everything clean .... and low and behold ... there were 2 pieces of carbon that was holding the valve open. i cleaned it out reinstalled it ..... keepin in mind that everything else i did to it let me down. IT FIRED UP AND RAN GREAT. i drove it blew it out and runs very well. .... ty for the help.
