Too much, should be less than 5 ohms, that's why it's hot. Follow it back until you find the poor connection, or run a new wire, using 10 gauge wire.

I had this same problem. Had to make a new connection to the window at the passenger side. Then had to track down where I had a bad connection. My bad connection was where the wire screwed into the arm, it was dirty and didnt get a good connection. After I cleaned both sides out the rear window defogger worked great again.

Check resistance between the terminals on the strut, that should also be less than 5 ohms. Yes the problem could be in the harness, but most likely where it attaches to ground after it comes out of the harness.

Ok i did this from the passenger side the wire from the body had 5 ohms so i connected it to the strut I tested at the other tip of the strut and i had 5 ohms now i connected the window wire and tested the grid and i had 5 ohms

I tryed the wire on the other side of the glass and i had 5 ohms I connected the wire to the other strut and had 5 ohms on the other end of the strut

When i test the wire coming out from the body on the drivers side it reaches 65 ohms

I guess i need to pull the rear panels off tomorrow

Driver side will show volts, not ohms. All you need on the driver side is for it to show battery voltage when the defroster is turned on.

so that means every things ok then right ? if i test the body wire from the driver side i get 13 volts

if i connect the wires all together the passenger sides ohms would be 67

Edit: I connected every thing again I tested every thing all the 3 plugs have 5 ohms and the driver side body wire has 13 volts

so i guess every things ok

edit2: I tryed it again and the wire hot real hot again sigh i give up for tonight

You must check resistance at the wire connector on the passenger side, (ground) with the connector unplugged from the grid. Gotta be 5 ohms or less.
