Default trip 910 miles towing 18.5 boat

This forum is awesome
I own a 94 4.3 vortec 4wd auto 100xxx odo stop working long ago, daily driver 58miles city/highway per day
I will be moving from NW Fla to Missouri. We are going to do the trip over three days. We will travel about 6 hours each day pulling the boat between 55mph and 60mph.
First I want to install an oil cooler, (heavy duty) but this truck has a remote oil filter already from the factory. Suggestions?
I noticed when I tow the boat for about an hour the dipstick gets hot. I want to prevent damage when moving. I change the oil every three months with 5w30 or 10w40 conventional and use a 32oz bottle of Lucas Oil stabilizer to maintain 40 psi at idle when the truck is at operating temperature.
Any thoughts on a transmission cooler.

Transmission coolers are a must. I like the B&M SuperCooler stacked plate style coolers for their viscosity controlled cooling paths. If the coolant is cool enough, it bypasses. Get the largest one you can reasonably fit and you will be good.

I missed the oil cooler part and went right to transmission cooler. I would not worry too much about the engine oil cooler. Just use a good synthetic oil and you should be ok so long as the rest of your engine cooling system is up to snuff. The transmission is where you should concentrate your efforts.
