2000 blazer 4WD 4l60E

is it better to chech ATF level in park or neutral?

Should say on the dipstick. I believe it says park for these vehicles but I'm not sure. It varies from one manufacturer to the next.

I would advise that park or neutral makes no difference,but make sure that before you operate the trans after a fluid change you put it in all gears while standing still and allow the fluid to reach operating temp to assure correct fluid level throughout the system before you drive it! After a road test at high temp situations(and idle it down) keep it running and check it again!
