I'm just being picky i guess.......most of the time i can see what number the needles point to, but when the sun is coming in.....forget it.....especially with sun glasses on,,,..

the needles are very visible,I just have trouble seeing exactly what number they are on............good example would be going thru a school zone.........5 mph.........could mean a lot to the billfold....

2001...by the way

Ohhh, I gotcha lol... It is not the back lighting of the dash itself... As far as the sun blinding you I have no idea how you can really do much about it... If you do find some kinda neon bright setup let us know

I just recently bought 2 Tac Visors, you see tv commercials all the time on the weather channel. They are amazing!!! I don't even use sunglasses in the Blazer anymore.

Don james, what year and model SUV do you have ? What type gauges are you having trouble seeing ? I have a 2003 Blazer LS and have trouble reading the digital read outs like the odometer. The 'dial with orange needle' gauges like the oil pressure, coolant temp, gas gauge, speedometer, tach/ RPM, are all very readable. The digital gauges fade out in certain light conditions to the point they are unreadable. This is in the day time when the sunlight strikes them at a bad angle.

One trick to read these small digital numbers in bad lighting is to turn the thumb wheel down to the lowest setting. So turn the wheel DOWN.all the way. This causes the gauge backlighting and the dig. odometer read out lighting to increase just enough to make those digital numbers readable. I discovered this trick by accident. This may only work on 2003 era Blazers. The odd thing is this thumb wheel is usually turned the opposite way to make the rest of the dash lights brighter ! Try it and see if it works on your vehicle.
