Help! My Blazer Grunts when going over Speed Bumps
When I approacha speed bump I slow down, removemy footoff of the brake then roll over the speed bump. On the up & down my Blazer Grunts. I have replaced the shocks about 6 months ago. I have pushed on the front bumper and can not duplicate the noise.
I was having this problem and also started have problems with play in my steering. The steering was fixed yesterdayfixed but my Blazer still grunts when going over speed bumps (pitman, idler & steering box replacement).
The shop that did the steering box replacement suggested that it may be the bushings and that they would lubricate them……looks like they forgot. The bushings looks good (no cracking).
Any suggestions on lubricating the bushings? Is this a good idea? Can lubricant deteriorate the rubber bushings? Looks like on some places it was suggested to use Ruglide from NAPA....anyone know anything about this?

i think i read somewhere that petroleum based lubricants deteriorate rubber. besides, rubber just deteriorates over time due to oxygen.
