I feel your pain with no garage.
When you change the oil the 2nd time (and any other oil change for that matter) in case you don't know it is best to drain when the oil is hot. That way it carries more of the conaminates out in the oil. If you change the oil when cold the heavier sludge etc. settles to the bottom and continues to build up over time.
