Received my Cobra 18WX ST II in the mail this morning and mounted the unit, but haven't run the power as of yet. Haven't received the antenna and will wait for that before powering everything up. But, this is where the radio went:

Passenger side under the glovebox with bracket mounted to the hard plastic part. Just enough width so it doesn't touch the sides. Also, glovebox only drops about 4" when open, so no interference there.

Will run the microphone cable a little neater when I hook-up the power, but clip is mounted just to the left of climate controls on that hard plastic under dash trim.

Radio dimesions are: 6 7/8d x 6 3/4w x 1 7/8h and there was plenty of leway if the 29s are bigger, other than the width, that was kinda cutting it close.

Best mounting location for my usage. Easily accessible while still being out of the way.

I have a Cobra 29 LTD mounted on the roof. Looks good up there.

EDIT: I pulled down the front section of the headliner. I then screwed a metal commercial edger blade (1" self tapping screws) to the edge of the windshield frame (on the edge so the blade will extend out a little more). I then put the headliner back up then used 2" (see note at bottom) self tapping screws to attach the cb mount to the edger blade thru the headliner. Attached to cb, ran power, and connected my Little Wil.

NOTE: I used 2" self tapping screws to screw the mount on. Unfortunatly, I hit the actual roof. The lucky part is I didnt go thru the roof. Just put dimples on the outside. I am gonna take the 2" screws out and replace them with 1 1/2" screws then tap the dimples back down.

Best place to tap into the power and ground is at the stereo. Just get a couple line taps and hook it up. That is how I run my Cobra and have 0 problems with it.
