Just wanted to confirm LoneWolf's readings. I have an 05 Chevrolet Blazer with Tweeters (rated 4ohms) up front on the dash and 6" speakers (rated 4ohms) in the door.

The rear speakers are 6x9 (rated at 10ohms). Which lead me to believe the front has to be wired in series to 8ohms because it would be ludacris if the head unit had a 2ohm and 10ohm channel set up.

I then attached a multimeter to the door speaker ground adapter (dark blue wire lead) and then completed the circuit by touching the positive (red wire lead) on the tweeter adapter confirming that it is wired in a series. Thus two 4 ohm speakers in series creates 8 ohms.

Clearly this is not the case with older s10 blazers. So check your application.

I also wanted to state that the front doors on this blazer are 6" exactly end to end from the mountings. Meaning the speaker itself is 5 1/2".

You can put 6 1/2" (which i am replacing with) which will clear but the diameter of the stock housing will allow the speaker in but the holes will not line up - you will either have to drill new holes or replace the plastic housing with the aftermarket ones.

I replaced all the speakers in my 1995 four-door a couple of years ago.
JBL GTO 6.5 inch in the rear doors, 6.5 in the front doors, and 4x6 in the dash. All fitted right in. No adapters needed, but can be useful.

The dash speakers were delco tweeters originally. But 4x6 fits in the same speaker compartment without hassle.

I also made an AUX input on the old Delco radio/cd player, following instructions posted on this forum.

Very useful information here. Front speakers are blown and the replacements are on the way. I’ll probably end up replacing the rears and dash just to keep things fresh.

All 82 to 04 S-10s take either 4x6s or 4x10s in the rear. Just look at it, if its a huge oval, its a 4x10, if its oval but closer to a circle , its a 4x6.
All 83-94 2 door Blazers use 6x9s in the rear
All 83-94 4 door blazers use 6 3/4s in the rear
All 94-04 S-10s and 95-04 Blazers use 6 3/4s in the front doors
All 95-04 Blazer 2 doors use 6x9s in the rear
All 95-04 4 door Blazers use 5 1/4s in the rear there are a few variances of this. some blazers come with tweeters in the dash. the info above will hold true 90% of the time, but it's always safest to check for yourself.

got a set of Rockford R1's going In and you took out the guess work! You sir are awesome!

I ordered a replacement pair for the front of my 1987 two door blazer and they were 4x6 but did not fit the mounting holes? I'm struggling to find a pair that will fit my dash mounts. they are 51/4 long by 3" wide.

Default 99 blazer rear speakers help

Hey y’all I’m upgrading the audio in my 4D blazer and I can’t find the right set for the rear. I have the

Boss RAGE BE654 in the front and I’m trying to find similar for the rears, but the BE654 doesn’t fit the rears and I tried the Boss RAGE BE524 and they’re too small.

here’s a photo of rear speaker Cavity.

Was able to install 6.5 in speakers in the rear doors of my 99.

Here's the full write-up.
