Finally got it all mounted up and wired!

Just need to straighten out the brush guard now, I noticed it's crooked once I uploaded this picture lmao

Made all new 4 guard wiring for the winch between the solenoid and the winch and between the solenoid and batter, all the original stuff was in pretty ruff shape and stiff has hell...

Then remote mounted the controller port in the grill. Recessed in pretty good, but still pretty easy to get to.

Mounted it to some plastic that I cut out of the little wind deflector thingy that had to be removed to fit the winch in there to begin with lol

I absolutely LOVE how well it fits. Doesn't stick out any further than the brush guard, which is mounted as close to the truck as the adjustments will let it go.

Also wired in a remote control system, in case I'm feeling too lazy to pull out the wired controller :P Only complaint I have with it is it's response time. There's a little lag between hitting a button and the winch actually doing something; hit IN, and a half second later the winch starts running; release the button, and a half second later it stops... Doesn't make it unusable, just something you have to keep in mind when using it.

Definitely a tight fit. I clearance JUST enough space for the winch to fit on the passenger side. Maybe a MM of wiggle room left between the winch motor and the clearance bumper bracket.

Driver's side has all the room in the world.

Plenty of room to reach in to the freespool lever too.

Ran it long enough to spool the cable up on it, but so far have yet to put it to the test. I know it'll drag the truck in park across the front yard lmao. I still need to mount a shield between the winch and oil filter and mount the skid place, will take care of that before I put it out on a trail.

Trimmed and reinstalled the skid plate today. Had to cut some slots in it to clear the winch mount. It's not very structural, but it's not like it was going to stop a stump from jamming into the engine bay or anything anyhow lol. I really need to invest into some good metal skids...

On a side note, I think I need to put a few turns on the torsion bars now. Seems like all the newly added weight pulled the front end down a good 1/2 inch lmao but it was already a little lower than I liked anyway... May put it up on the lift at work tomorrow and knock it out.

OH, and not to look too far into the future, but I'll be taking ownership of this rolling chassis soon Will definitely be a long term project, but the plan is to throw these axles under the Blazer eventually!

Definitely some major work done to it. I'm itching to pull the diff covers off. I know it's been regeared, believe it or not it's drivable as it is lol and it jerks HARD in high range, so it certainly had some larger tires on it at some point. I'm just curious of there's any sort of lockers in it

I'm not sure if I am ever gonna replace my motor. If you live near south FL, I can make a deal on the Spare tire hanger with all the hardware you didn't know you needed.

try the email link. I'm not as active asa I used to be...,
