The only thing with the Camaro needles is that they need to be trimmed to fit, but it is easy.
I just replied/quote on your post over in "Road Warrior Build" about that cool double din unit goat goes way beyond just the gauges in the cluster. Can I get a good one at "Wally World?" My '96 is the first year compatible with the OBII/Can scan tool.

Default Dragging a fan

After thinking about the good things in the dark one's future once I get more power from the DR44G. Although I am not sure about any gain from an electric fan I certainly think a second one set to kick on with the A/C Compressor is a BIG +. It gets "Africa HOT in South FL from May through September.

When I shopped online for a new water pump just about all the sellers were offering a fan clutch as a kit. To get the pump without it was like a custom order. Autozone was offering some outlandish discount on top of a promotion code so I just went with it. The day after I installed it I drove it to do the free flow exhaust. I began to notice a sort of howling when I drove. It sounded a lot like my new neighbors S10 pick up with a big blower on it. He never drives fast or spins tires; but what else could it be?

An over active Fan Clutch! I contacted AZ online and they said to take it to any of their stores for a swap or refund. I put my old clutch in, boxed up the new one and returned it. My new exhaust is very quiet until I put my foot into it. Then the engine has a proud "let's go racing" song.

When I thing about dragging that fan along for the last 3500 miles I am certain my milage was way down. If I had a reliable trip meter I would know. I think mebe I will stop my neighbor and ask about his "Blower."

Thanx a lot Tajohns34

I just went online to Walmart.com and did a search for "double din" and came up with several units that seem to have all the stuff my new Sony has (Radio, CD, MP4 & Blue Tooth) with a big screen. Im not sure how to put Torque into it via blue Tooth but I'm sure I can find a teenager that can help me. Most of these units are under $100. I was expecting a lot more.

I have to use the Walmart credit at Walmart so I guess I need to shop over there.

Torque is an app that you can install on any android device, I can't remember if they have an apple version yet or not. There is a free version as well as the paid version.

I downloaded the app OK but I could not find any info about installing it so I called them [carDual electronics]. Apparently most of these units have no OS [android or apple.] The guy said I cannot even use the app "Maps" from my iphone on their screen because USB or BlueTooth was "audio only." I would have thought the guy would try to hook me up with another Dual product.Go figure.

I will prolly have to use store credit as a gift card at wallmartonline. Just when I think I know the "key words" to look for I have them wrong. I really wish I could just talk with another human about what I want in the head unit without forgetting the Radio. Believe it or not, there is a market for in dash systems for BlueTooth, CD and MP3 that don't even have a radio

Default Pesky P0700 code

I find that interpretring a lot of the text in the scxanner manual is confusing. Before starting her up I can see KWP 2000 [no clue what that is]
IS 09141 - I heard that was a protocol and not to worry about it

P0700 never really goes away for me. I fix/replace other issues but this "Trans Control Sys Malfunction keeps coming back. I am tempted to take it to a transmission shop [even though I'm sure they will want to sell me something while I'm there] My misfires keep coming back and "Service Engine Soon" light usually doesn't even come on.

After erasing all codes, it's still the first one. later, after running for awhile, Cat Not Ready is about the only other thing OBII Scanner is saying. From a red light she hims and haws, putts and sputters in the low RPM range but sounds pretty sweet when the RPMs are above 1500, especially when the trans downshifts.

Does anybody have a "bandaid fix" for this?

I have been away since 03/14 My computer had a problem with the hard drive the day before and I had to ask a buddy to recover my data and install a new one. He upgraded all my programs as well. So there is a positive note to all that shipping and waiting.

The Dark one's tranny started misbehaving by downshifting at unnecessary times. Finally, it started slipping in drive at green lights on the 14th. I pulled into a Walmart and checked the stick. Wet but not red. I added a quart of Lucas, let it run a few minutes and had no reverse to get out of the parking spot. A good shove was all it took to get out of there but going forward was a real "assisted coast" getting home [about a mile from WallyWorld].

This may be the big mystery behind that vague code P0700. Every body around here wants to rebuild it instead of repairing it. Prices range from $1100 to $1800 and they all come with a 1yr warrantee. I just keep thinking there must be a better way ......
