Well nothing major today but I made a bit of progress with it. I managed to get the steering box out (which wasn't hard since I've had it out before), cut out the front cross member, installed a new tstat switch for my efans in the head, and sprayed a bit of paint on the frame just to help out my ocd a bit!
Obviously the old on the left and the astro is on the ground.

Gone! I still have to cut off more brackets and then attack everything with the grinder and clean it all up but I'm to lazy to do any more today.

Here's a better shot a little closer than the previous ones and the frame doesn't look like doodoo in this pic either!

And then for anyone interested in what the ranger shackle looked like when finished here are a couple shots of the driver side. The sun has not been cooperating to get good pics of the passenger side but I will get them asap.
Its also a good shot of my shackle angle.

The front and rear fenders are actually only a 1 1/2" difference in height! I think what really throws it off when looking at it is the front fender is trimmed in the rear and missing the bumper on the front so it looks really swooping and open so it gives the appearance that it is way higher. I think I will pick up an AAL and throw it in there and that should put me right were I want to be.

Looking great Rex. It's gonna be a sweet rig when you finish the swap.

Looks good Rex, I'd drive it for a couple months and wait for the front springs to settle before messing with the back springs any more.
