Just ordered everything I need for my steering finally! I got all 4 TRE's, inserts w/jam nuts, and DOM for $176 shipped. If anyone wants to know where let me know and I can post up tomorrow. But I sourced a TRE kit on eBay for $90 and found a seller on pirate that sold me two 54" sticks for $86 to my door. I've still got to order the adapter sleeves for the knuckles and pitman arm but I'll find my deal on those tomorrow. I'll also try and get my brake lines and ujoint tomorrow and hopefully have this thing drivable soon.

I'm living vicariously through your awesome thread. Thanks for sharing.

I know TRE is tie rod ends. Not sure of "sticks" and "DOM"?

Links are always helpful. Thanks again for your time & effort in posting.

DOM is "Drawn over Mandrel" and is in reference to tubing. "Sticks" would be lengths of said tubing.

I'm assuming he means to make his own steering linkage with these parts rather than buy weaker stock style parts.

Yes you would be absolutely correct in your response

To help get this thing moving I got my conversion ujoint and brake lines all ordered today so hopefully by the end of next week or the beginning of the following week this thing will be drivable depending on how long it takes everything to show up!

TRE's and inserts are here! I can't say anything but good about the eBay seller either. Ordered them Monday and they are here Wednesday all the way from WA!

Rerouted some wires and the pass side brake line and got them secured which was needed after removing the front crossmember got the power steering lines and shaft hooked up to the astro box, and started making my new winch mount. I'll get some pics up tomorrow but it's just a piece of 1/4" plate that will be welded on top of the spring hanger to keep the winch up high and tucked away behind the bumper nicely.

Got the winch mount finished up today. For now I will just cut my factory bumper to around the fairlead and I will build a support to mount the fairlead to in some fashion that I have not yet come up with lol!
I used a scrap piece of 1/4" plate for the mount.

Its welded to the Sky spring hanger and won't be goint anywhere.

All cleaned up and painted.

While I was working on this I had two deliveries of much needed parts arrive. The first was the conversion u-joint (no picture of that everyone knows what a u-joint looks like!) and the second was my DOM for the steering.

I managed to get the DOM cut to length and the inserts tacked into place. I'll pick up a 7/8" bit and drill out my holes for my adapters in the morning and by the time I am finsihed with that the adapters should be here so I can test fit everything and finish welding it all up.

Not the best pic but for size comparison that is a factory Ford tie rod in the middle!
