Got a good bit done on my bumper today. Rear crossmember cut out and gone. Sorry for the crap pics!

Cut the ends off the receiver and shortened it a tad to fit inside the frame rails

Cut what I guess is a reinforcement ring off the receiver it will go back on later.

After a whole lot of measurements and test fits I drilled some holes.

Then I cut out the center for the receiver to slide thru. Now you see why I cut off the ring

And then I did a whole lot that I didn't take pics of and this is where I ended the day.

Just have to do a bit more welding and get some reinforcement built into the frame for when it's bolted on and I will be done till I add some led reverse lights later on. I think it looks a lot better and beefier now.

Nice work Rex! I bet that you get pretty good mileage now that your truck is a Hybrid.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna drive in the HOV lane with the kid in the back since you can't see him and try to get pulled over and tell the officer it's a hybrid lol!

Bumper is finished and paint is drying! I'll get it put back on tomorrow and get pics but here's a couple to show how it will be bolted on. I think it's going to be more that strong enough and I am happy with how it has turned out!

For the frame side of things I cut the mounts from the hitch and welded them into the frame in the position I needed them. I was able to add allot of weld since they had hole through the middle so that added a solid 7-8 inches of weld to side for more strength

Not the greatest pic but you can see how they are attached

Good thick 1/4" steel as well for beef!

I'll get pics of the finished product up tomorrow.

Bumper is finished!

I also spent some time messing with my gears and they are much quieter now but still not silent. I'm going to drive it for about a 100 miles and see if they quiet down any and if not I'll have a pro look at it when I have then install the front!

Might just need to wear in a bit. I'd dump the gear oil at 100 miles too, just to get the break-in shavings out of there.

Your gonna be the guy towing all the stuck guys off road with that bumper!

I'm still looking for a motor and haven't pulled the trigger yet because I'm trying not to spend unnecessary money at the moment so I can take the family to WI to see my Gma for Xmas this year. I'm not to concerned about the initial cost of the motor but more the fact that I know I'll have a harder time not gathering everything else I need for the swap if I have the motor lol! Plus Xmas is expensive around my house the Wife has informed me she wants Tiffanys for Xmas this year FML!

Well just went to head to the mall for some new shoes and the blazer won't start FML! It cranks but no start. My guess is fuel pump since it's got a crap airtex in it from the PO. Had the Wife give me a ride to work to get tools and the murano. It started really hard last night and the CEL flashed and is now on so maybe that will tell me something. Hopefully it's something simple!

Rex,
I've been following your build for over a year now (Even before i was a member here) and have to say it is a pretty awesome build! I actually got rid of my S10 i had and just last week got a 95 Blazer (Same color of red as yours lol)

Maybe i should start a build thread too.......haha

Get it running again since your last post?
