My small 96 Blazer build

Welcome to the forum. You should do a search or start a new thread instead of cluttering a build thread.
1. Excursions didn't come with a D60 or D70. So either those aren't the axles you have, or they didn't originally come from an excursion.
2. Gearing depends on end use as much as tire sizes. IMO 40's should have at least 5.13's. There are conversion calculators all over the internet. They can tell you what an equivalent gearing would be based on starting tire size and gear ratio.

Did some black Friday shopping for the blazer today! I picked up new wheel bearings, u bolt and plate kit, u joints, ram assist mount, Yukon 35 spline chromoly outer stub shafts, Yukon hardcore locking hubs and lastly full high steer arms with King pin spring eliminators and 3/4" knuckle tie in kit! The only thing left is to get new studs and lug nuts but I'm going to wait to get those so I can find the correct studs to match my rear axle.
I also picked up a ruff stuff cover a couple weeks ago frm pirate. I'm putting a locker for the 60 and shave cover for the 14b on my Xmas list this year to save myself a few pennies lol!

If GM built S10 Blazers that tough from the get-go, we'd still be driving ours ...

^ haha yeah but then they would all be the same like jeeps lol!
Got some more parts in!

Hydro mount

Anybody need bearings!!

Just waiting on my high steer arms and some lug nuts now. Today I got the shafts put together and reinstalled, cleaned up the spindles and painted the caliper brackets and got those reinstalled with some fresh grease. Then I managed to get one of the hubs cleaned out and new bearings and races installed with a whole lot of fresh new grease in it as well. A buddy is going to turn the rotors that came on the axle for me tomorrow since they are like new just rusted from sitting. That will help so then I can clean the other hub tomorrow and get everything back together rather than waiting to pull my 44 and have to tear it apart to get the rotors off it.
I also picked up new M14x1.5 studs for the 60 to match my rear axle so all of my lug nuts will match
I got lucky and the lady at advance found 14 of the 16 I needed and when she scanned it they came up as discontinued so I got 14 studs for 5¢ each!! Then I just went to another store to get the last two at $2.11 each lol. I drilled the hubs to fit the larger studs today as well. So if all goes well I should have the 60 in next week.

Wow, been reading through this thread, this is an awesome build. Still have much reading to do though. Love how the Blazer has come along though, gives me inspiration for my own 1998 GMC Jimmy. One question though, are there any legal issues with having big tires like that that extend out wider than the body of the vehicle? Or does that depend on the state one is in?

Thanks for the compliments! The tires are technically illegal here but I have friends that do my safety inspections for me so I can kind of get around it. If a cop wanted to stop me I suppose they could but knock on wood no issues yet! Each state has different laws and uphold them differently tho.
Got a few things done this week but not as much as I was hoping.
This one shouldn't need explaining!

My steering arms finally arrived yesterday

I guess the bolts they supply are for Chevy knuckles so I will have to get some a bit shorter but I'm going to wait till it's under the truck before I do that.

Got my ruffstuff cover ready to go.

I really like the counter sunk bolts

So now I'm just waiting on my rotors to be turned and I can finish assembly and get it under my truck!

Looks nice! Do all those extra lights require an extra battery or run off of the standard battery?

I have a bigger alternator, big 3 and a optima yellow top battery to keep up with my electrical needs!
