drained what was left in front diff today, it wasn't bone dry like i thought, it had about a quart left, took just over 2 to get it refilled after i drained out what was in there. redid the gasket. picked up a new u joint for the drivers side and a new wheel bearing, cups, seal for the same side. gotta fab a mount on the transfer case they left out on the lift, hoping to get more pics tomorrow and change the back fluid by wednesday, also found the front is eating wheel weights, i think it needs spacers, other then that things are starting to come together, got to go talk to the body shop that is suppose to hook me up with some gm floor panels, picked up free floor braces at work yesterday, thats always a plus

good deals of the day

can you believe the guy threw this in for free with the gauges

whole box of goodies

shifter indicator and ****

as far as the far 4 left gauges go, the oil pressure, engine temp, volts, what do i actually do on the back of the gauge, there is 3 different bolts. i assume these are mechanical gauges, anyone point me in the right direction or have a diagram?

Why didn't you grab the whole cluster? The factory gauges mount into the cluster. It is fairly simple, but there are several different dash setups and associated schematics. This comes back to knowing what you have...

like Kyle said, you need to start knowing what you have, and the proper terminology for parts.

'cause a dial indicator is used in a machine shop (tool & die, injection mold, engine machine shop, etc), and that's why i asked you why you needed a new one, it sounded like you were thinking about rebuilding your engine.

still a great score, but Kyle is right, you should've just grabbed the whole thing. it's always easier to sell of what you don't need later (like that's ever gonna happen!), than it is to go back and hopefully be able to get it the second time around.

well tomorrow i'll hopefully pull the old dash apart, the cover i got was for a diesel, which mine use to be, i took some measurements before i went to go get the stuff just to make sure it would fit.
and yeah my bad on the terminology, i tried writing what i was gonna do quickly and in a time crunch, these are the pics i have of why i need the new dash plate

and a picture of the aftermarket steering wheel

also im still confused on that oil pressure gauge, the one that is currently in there is a mechanical gauge, and it isn't stock, the stock one does not have any place to hook up the hose for the mechanical setup, so are those an electric gauge? sorry for the stupid question.....
