Glad I got the easy-over on the antenna now!
Haha, I got about that close to the top of a parking garage once, and I don't even have a lift. Although with my lights and the lightbar, it's about 10 in. taller than the roof but still. Lookin' good though.

What did you use to be able to tip over the CB antenna like that? I'm looking to do almost the exact same thing on mine.

Its called an "easy-over". I got 2 off amazon a while ago. Cons are: shouldn't be used to transmit when folded down, and the pin in the center may fall out so zip ties should be used to "leash" the antenna whip just in case.

I was considering using something similar (I'll go look on Amazon) but with a clip towards the top of the antenna where it meets the roof rack. Have you had any other issues with the antenna flopping around while it's down?

The device goes between the antenna and the spring, it wont work any other way due to the sliding action it uses to operate. My antenna is on the lower bar on my basket, the fold is about six inches up from the mount. So it folds over and lays on the top bar up front. I sliced up some 6" lengths of 3/8" fuel line and zip tied them to the bars to protect the antenna from flopping around. For now I just used a reusable ziptie for holding down the antenna, and I insert a paperclip through the easy-overs pin and wrap it around to be sure it does not fall out.

In the upright position it will not affect your SWR, HOWEVER FOLDED OVER IT WILL CREATE A HUGE SWR!!! Don't damage your radio!

I had it running on a regulated splitter. I got a coil/capacitor RF choke diagram from a Radio Engineer so I just need to build it. Then I will power the CB through the choke but from my rear battery that i still need to install!
