That setup will not correct for LO range operation.

I am going to use a mechanical to electric conversion box on my K5 when I put the TBI motor in. It takes the mechanical speedo output from the transfer case and converts it to a square wave signal.

its a brand new starter. gonna load test my battery, see how many amps its putting out. would not having the correct amps shut the truck off if its running though ?

okay so i need a two pulse, but where does it screw in to ? thats what im not understanding. the one kit had a reluctor ring on the output shaft and then you had to drill and tap for the sensor, i dont see why that wouldnt work ? wouldnt it only affect 4LO if its mounted on the transfer case output shaft ? that one showed it on the trans output before it even hit the transfer case

If you put a NP208 case in your truck , like you have said you needed to do to get a passenger drop , you would take the sensor I linked and screw it into where the cable would go on the NP208. Then you solder the wires into your VSS pigtail. Presto , speedo signal!
.

Load test your battery? I thought you said it was good.
Figure out whether or not your battery is any count.
Like I said earlier , you may have more than 1 problem. First thing is to get is spinning. And new starters will junk out quicker than old factory ones depending on the brand.

okay so this weekend when i get the transfer case i will look at it and see a hole in it where a speedo cable used to be? and in that very same spot i put my vss and my factory pigtail will read the gears the same as it would now?
load tested, put out 1.2 amps under load which im told is normal. the old factory started is the one that took a **** on me and now the new one still doesnt turn fast enough..
thanks for putting up with me by the way

On the back of the 208 will be a spot for a cable. Buy the sensor from JTR and screw it in where the cable would normally screw in. Then solder your VSS wires from your harness to the new sensor. Presto Chango - VSS solved.

Unless you get a later model 208 , which could have a factory VSS already in it. Go get it and see what you have
