Thanks, Luther,
I think we may have progressed beyond the OBD1 phase.
You’ll see that Transman304 has listed a code 66 for OBD1.5 that seems to be more in line with my complaint.

If You have already dropped the pan, You may want to look around to get the vacuum testing plate, to test the solenoids and the valves as they move.

Transman304, I keep seeing on 24217792 as being a torque converter pulse width modulation (pwm) solenoid.
Is this the solenoid I need?

Sorry 'bout the part number typo. Of course I meant 24227792.
This is the solenoid in question, that I'll be replacing with 24227792, right?

Today, 3 weeks and a day since my transmission went into limp mode, it’s back to working right.

Thanks, Transman304 for all your help.

Today I replaced the 3-2 downshift solenoid, the manifold pressure switch and the internal wiring harness.
One or more of those things did the trick.

After a 4-5 mile test ride it shifted and the converter locked as designed. There was no code afterward.

Thanks Blazer Forum for being there. 😁
