Was driving home today and pulled in driveway and when i put shifter into park it wouldn'tlock into park . I pulled key out and tried to restart and wouldn' . So i manually put it in park and it started and went into other gears fine. When i put it in park again it wouldn'tlock and had to mmanually do it from tranny. Any suggestions would help. Thx

 

Mine has started doing that. I'm pretty sure it's the shift cable has stretched. It will crank up in neutral, so you don't have to keep crawling under the vehicle every time to start it.

I keep putting it off to fix mine. Just leave it in neutral and hit the emergency break when you park it!

 

Thx for your advice. 184,000 going strong. Purrs like a kitten. Needs a new transfer case. But thats it. Thx again
