Tranny dilemma
Hi all
I am currently drive a 98 LS for my mail route, I had a 2000 but parked it last year to use for parts ( engine ,fuel pump, ball joints bad). So the tranny is going out in the 9$ I dropped the 00 thinking I could swap them. Unfortunately the fluid is black and stinks.
Now I am not sure what to, should I mess with that one or look for another? I looked around a little and see they go around $700-900 and then I will $400 install fee on top of that. Any sage advice for me?

you can install it yourself if you got the knowledge. whenever it came to any of my vehicles i always just get the transmission rebuilt. ive known so many people who just put junkyard transmissions in their trucks then they go out every 2 years.
i also keep the same type of vehicles. the transmission that is in my 86 fullsize has been in 2 other trucks before this. so if you plan on keeping s10s its kinda like a investment. spend the money to have this one done right and when this one falls apart x number of years down the road you can always keep it on the shelf for the next s10
