Does anyone have access to run VIN's to see if recalls were performed (FLAME ALERT)
Hello again guys,
As the title reads, does anyone have access to run VIN's to see if recalls were performed?
Also, another off the wall stoopid question....do recalls expire if they havent been completed?
Just had to ask the "experts" here before I contact dealer. I only have had one recall experiance in my life (91 Dodge Stealth RT TT / Transfer Case) and man let me tell you..that recall was crap and still is. They looked at the car (visual inspection), signed off on it and 3 weeks later tcase locks up...lol.
Anywho..sorry for rant and potenital stooopid question on recalls.

You can see if there is a recall here;
Home | Safercar -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
Once yu see if there is a recall, then you can contact your dealer to see if it has been performed. You will need to have your VIN handy when you do that. If they say there isn't recall, that's when you give them the details from the NHTSA site. (That's the link.) Always be polite but if you know there's a recall and they say there isn't, you might want to work your way up the corporate ladder as well as getting Uncle involved. I've had them tell me there wasn't one and I had to get serious. It paid off down the road though. Now that my beard has turned grey, I don't get the run around much anymore. Sometimes it pays to look like an apprentice curmudgeon.
