im getting and dana 60 front end and a 14 bolt with a locked rear end and a 400 small block to drop in my 87 k5 im also puting an 6" susp lift with 35s will the 700R4 tranny and 208 transfer hold up to it?

Both should do well. You may want to plan for a performance rebuild on the 700R4, but so long as you protect the transfer case from impact, it will hold up quite well.

i never really had a 700r4 in a wheeling truck. had one in a 84 that i used as a daily driver/tow vehicle on 33s and it lasted the few years i owned the truck.

for the past few years ive been wheeling with the 208 case also with a 400ci and 38 inch tires and never had one problem with the transfercase. also depends on what kinda wheeling your doing. if your gonna be going ***** out bouncing up rocks you might have a issue
