what have you gotten done on your blazer today?
Replaced the dizzy
It took way too long for a one hour job. but I got it done. It runs a little smoother now, and doesn't make noise anymore. the biggest lesson I learned is that sharpie won't label a spark plug wire permanently, and you can't trace the wires w/ no sleep. I also got an unexpected side effect. my oil pressure is a constant 40 psi. now.
wheel noise
What I did was to avert disaster. Driving my daughter to the Dr.this morning noticed a weird noise coming from the right rear wheel. I pulled overinto a parking lot to discover 4 out of 5 nuts were dangerously loose. Took them off with my fingers.....How / what / why? Don't know. Checked the rest just to be sure.
Not a blazer but ive bought an old chevy 1500 and have bean working on it, well mostly cleaning it. Pics in my build thread https://blazerforum.com/forum/builds...e-85344/page2/
Went to "Harry's U pull it" in PA to grab some parts. Got a nice hitch for $20 bucks. New side mirrors, wiper, switch assembly, front tow hooks and 4x4 diaphragm. Still looking for the zr2 valance and right rear fender!!! (If anyone has either please let me know)
Battled trying to remove the steering shaft so I could change the plugs. Ended up having to cut the old shaft out. Went to change the #3 plug, grabbed my recent summit order and found only 1 of the 6 plugs in the package. FML. Fought with getting the Jeep shaft all in and working. Changed the cap/rotor and a few wires. What a pain in the *** it was on this Jimmy. My other one I could get the #3 plug with no problems.
Shocks
Replaced all 4 shocks on mine wasn't too bad had to cut the front ones off doesn't shake as bad at 70-80 but it's still there. Almost time for an oil change. Oh and replaced my alternator the bearrings inside we're going bad causing the engine to work hard at an idle and caused it to skip and shake. But all is well now
