i had to lift the engine to where the bottom of the exhaust manifold was about equal to the upper shock stud.

I also had to buy a set of ratcheting box-end combination wrenches with fkex heads to be able to get to the lower bolt on the engine mount and the two transmission to transmission mount bolts. I got the GearWrench 90 tooth ones. The 15mm was indispensable!

I take pride in being able to do things myself, but I think I'd pay a shop if it needed to be done again!

i also drained the rear diff only to discover I had the wrong gasket!

I wish there was a diff cover with a drain I could install that didn't cost over $125!
The motor mounts are a pain. I just did my rear diff fluid earlier this year. I'd also like a diff cover with a drain on it. Probably worth investing it. If anything it'll look nice.

Sprayed uncoat on the diff cover after it was back on and cleaned to stop the rust.

Checked front diff oil lever. The new ratcheting, flex head wrench worked great for that.

Found wires to the front diff out of their wire loom tubing and fixed that.

Contemplated the difficulty of replacing the rear springs and if I should do it in the spring instead of now.

I still have to install the 1-ton Idler arm.
Derusting is a good feeling.

Replaced alternator, spark plug wires, distributor cap/rotor, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, timing chain components, ignition coil. All connectors are corrosion free. All grounds cleaned. Battery charged to full. No code on dash. All fuses good.

I can hear the pump and relay kick on. I'll need to do a fuel pressure and leakdown test next. Blazer has been out of commission for almost 3 months now.

Engine crank

To be honest I cheaped out on the distributor, but put a GM cam position sensor and Delphi cap/rotor on it. Guess I'll just have to get an OEM distrubutor. I should've known better. Going to do the fuel pressure/leakdown test regardless.

Finished installing the 1-ton idler arm upgrade. This much more of a chore than I expected. I'll likely do a proper write up on what I learned on my build thread.

But for now, it is done.

The price of the parts was $150 for the adapter and however much for the two standard idler arm parts, maybe another hundred or so?

As for if it is worth it? I added it for peace of mind to make the suspension more durable. For me it was worth it.

I don't do a lot of off-roading, so I never knew these existed. I could research, but since we're here; how does it make suspension more durable? Asking for a friend...

This is an upgrade from the stock style idler arms that are notorious for wearing out. The oem style ones from Moog or Proforged are supposed to be better, but even they wear out and become loose.

Got tired of the junk distributors so I said F it and just got an upgrade Delphi one. Wish me luck!
