I need to get tire balancing/mounting equipment. Save money taking it to a places that can't even do it correctly.

Installed the steering stabilizer, rear sway bar links, front polyurethane sway bar links. Need to upgrade the shocks now and he'll feel like a whole different vehicle.

Today I hope I fixed a squeak and rattle in the center console. I found the plastic at the front mounting bolts had shattered. I repaired it using acetone to weld it back together and then added an extra layer of ABS to each of the locations. I also added some polyethylene shims at the attachment points for the skirt on the console.

The broken front foot of the console.

Good fix. When I had my interior out I was also sick of the rattles, squeaks and creaks from random places of the panels and trims; so I have felt tape and Dual Lock everywhere.

Thanks! I used the same technique to repair the abs of the console lid.

It can also help to make a slury of acetone and plastic shavings to fill gaps.

These repairs are reminders that GM products are not always designed to last 25 years. LOL

I finally got my parking brakes adjusted properly. Whew. I hadn't had to do that for over a decade and I must have forgotten how I was able to do it before.

What I think finally helped me get the adjustment of the shoes correct was to make sure the parking brake actuator lever for each of the brakes was in its fully relaxed position. I suspect that in my previous attempts, it was partially engaged so that the adjusting the adjustment nut was not sufficient, leaving in a extra slop in the system. All this would have been so much easier if like regular drum brakes, the adjustment nuts could be accessed from outside, not requiring a person to take off the tire, rear calipers, caliper brackets, and rotors.
