did my own oil change for the 1st time! its been a long time coming, but it feels good. Screw quickie oil change shops that charge you ($70) for stuff they usually dont do!

chose castrol 10-30 gtx-on sale at wally $10.88 4L and another $4 for 1L
and quaker state filter that i read is make by purolator and similar to the pureone.

my first time, spilt a little oil and had to retighten the oil filter it was seeping a little, i didnt really know how much torque to put on it.

Picked up a spent 5.3L V8 today for $30. Yes, $30. Spun rod bearing and all, but still, I couldn't pass this up. I'll have it down to the shop Saturday to pull apart and see how extensive the damage is, but even if I just clean up the heads and sell them, I'll make money.
