OK so i am in tampa driving to a customers house to pick up some trim parts for his 86 f-body. and on the way back i notice my rig runnin just a little on the warm side. well i pull into a gas station check the coolant and everything seems fine, so back down the road i go. i get about 5 more miles still about 20 miles or so from home and the truck suddenly runs rough sputters coughs and shuts off. temp guage never read above 200 the entire time. i kill the power try firin it back up[ nothing. double check the temp guage and its pegged at about 270. musta been there a good 10 mins or so (was rush hour traffic) and i never noticed it running hot cause i had no chime and no guage tellin me it was hot. well anyway no start no nothin so i call my dad tell him he needs to call his buddy n get me a tow his response "let it cool down for an hour fill it with water and baby it home" so i DONT do as he says call my own wrecker tow it to a buddy's shop have him look at it. his response "blown intake gasket better hope the heads aint cooked for how hot you said it got and thank god you towed it" looks at my father and says "if the heads aint cooked its a semi inexpensive fix if the heads are cooked its slightly expensive. and if your son had driven it here after letting it cool down and heads are warped bad enough you would be looking at throwing a new motor in it. damn you really are a moron. ill have it fixed by next week"

I got one!
Today I left my house (intent to go and put my 2" performance accessories body lift on). Went to the store to get some tea, came out, got in, turned it on. Over the normal temperature. I called my dad which was following me- few miles back though because he left late and he brought antifreeze. Went about 3-5 miles and pulled in a driveway....WAYYYY HIGH TEMP! put more in. Radiator was DRY! =[ about pulled onto the road of my personal mechanic and it shut off. Everything. Forced it onto the other road and had to push it onto the other side of the road...sooooo depressed by this time. Longer story short, decided to start looking for a new motor. =[

been awhile since i've posted but....

a few years back driving a ford escort, we stopped at a rest area around 1am and came back out and the car wouldn't start. No one was around. This car came up and it was a mechanic visiting his family. We finally got it started and i headed to the next town to get gas....

Well It died again, luckily Walmart was open and i was able to get a battery and get it fixed. By this time its around 230am. The only person to offer help was a truck driver from Tennessee. Not even the cop that drove by did anything.

Sadly the blazer seems to pick days where it doesn't want to work, left stranded one time at the library: the A.I.R. hose lost its clamp and was caught in between the serpentine belt and the fan...... the next time it died in the hospital parking lot.... now its dead in front of the house.

ok. well i was driving my sonoma with 2 of my friends trying to find snow this past feb. found it and when time to go home i couldnt make it up the hill due to ice and it being 2wd. was told there was another way to the freeway. so i folowed it. about 5 miles in, and bear in mind im hitting each turn at about 10mph, i end up hitting one turn and star sliding, felt like the titanic trying to miss the iceburge. i threw it into revers and flored it. end up hitting the side of the road and rolling down a hill about 4 times.was stuck in bakersfield for 2 days trying to figure out how to get my truck home. local tow companies wanted to charge me $450 to pull it up from down the hill and $350 to tow it to my house 70 miles away. so called a friend with a computer and had him get me AAA Premier package. cost me $135 and they sent 2 tow trucks to pull it out and tow me home.. worst day of my life...killed it with 242k on it

Mine wasnt huge but extremely inconvenient. I was visiting a friend near Chicago, IL...about 8 hours from home. went to start up my truck and it just turned and turned. figured out that it was a fuel pump and dished out the dollars just to get back home.
