easy way to lift
Personally, I'd go with the body lift. Keep in mind that with the stock rims, 31 inch tires will likey rub the frame and/or sway bar at full lock. You can buy rims with less backspace, but then you run into problems with the tires rubbing on the back of the front fenders. There are several guys on here who's tires rub the frame at full lock, but they don't seem to make a big issue out of it. You lose a little bit of turning radius is all.
you can run 31's with a 2" lift and stock rims without rubbing, offset rims you have to trim your fenders.
List of lifts.
tbar crank 1-3" - free
shackles 1-2" - $50
add-a-leafs 1" - $75
body lift 2" - $200
rough country 2" susp - $425
superlift 2" susp - $800
bds 5" susp - $1600
superlift 6" susp - $1900
the largest possible lift you can get is with tbar crank, shackles, body lift, and the 6" superlift. thats 10" of lift and you can maybe squeeze 35s depending on the brand. any tire size larger than 31's you may have issues rubbing the frame and or sway bar.
or you can do a solid axle swap and you can lift your truck from anywhere from 4-20" cost you about $2000, not counting tires, gears, ect.
