I just got a 98 blazer 4 door 4x4 and i was wondering if i get a lift kit smaller than 3 inches will i need to buy any other parts thanks any info appreciated

 

A 1.5" torsion bar front lift and 2" shackles in the rear are your cheapest option. Lifting these trucks causes a lot of stress on the front ends and will cause premature wear. The lift kits that will do 2" achieve the same thing as above, except they may include stuff such as new torsion keys so that you can crank it more, but the more you crank, the sooner you will blow your front end parts. (If I remember right someone on here said at 2" on the torsion bars it was only 50 miles till something broke). If you do lift it just remember to keep things greased and that will help. There is a thread that will describe all the different lift options available, search for it.

As for other parts, you don't really NEED any other parts, but you'll want to consider longer lift shocks (+1 or +2), greasable ball joints, and maybe a small fund for tire rotation

 

Couldnt you just buy a 2 in. suspenion lift? you get front end parts with that right?

 

If you buy the full kit from Rough Country or Superlift you'll get new shocks all around, and the RC kit comes with upper ball joints. If you just do the more common tbar crank/shackles, you get none of that, but you save $340+

So...3' of lift for your truck will be either a 1' suspension lift (shackles and t-bar) + 2' body lift. Or you can go 2' suspension (harsher ride) and 1' body lift (custom kit)

Brush guards arn't cheap. You can find Hunter guards (ordered direct from manufacturer) for ~$220, or go with pre-fab for $350-400.

Largest wheels you can fit are 30x9.5 with no lift. If you lift 2' you can fit 31x10.50. If you throw new rims on with different backspacing, you run into a whole different set of limits.
