I prefer the mom and pop ASC(auto supply company) here local over anything. Friendly customer service...they know me by name there and usually carry everything for any of my vehicles and if they do not. They get it the next day. And if something breaks I take it there and they replace free....lifetime warranty FTW!

They may be more expensive than AutoZone and cheaper than OEM, but I go there because I walk into a friendly atmosphere. Last time I walked into AutoZone to get some free oil change stickers and bought a case of oil the kid threw the stickers at me "here just take them all since you want them" I put them in my pocket tapped the case. "This goes over there." And walked out.

If I'm at home I visit ASC. If I am at work and after work need something I stop by the OReillys. I stop at Advanced for paint and all, but they do not carry duplicolor anymore that Rust o crap so I do not go there anymore.

I mainly use autozone to read my engine codes, and to buy plugs from. Everything else is kind of a rip off imo. Plus walmart is across the street, napa is down the block if I'm shopping for a part.

Autozone is the Dollar Store of auto parts stores! Every "Duralast" part is made in Mexico or China.

If the part isn't listed on their little computer screen, your F#cked. They don't know how to open a parts book... "Book? What's that?" As they stare at you blinking with a confused look on their faces...

Last week, I needed an 1157 bulb for my turn signal and they didn't have any on the rack, so I went and asked the Counter Hero, with HER shaved head, a chain connecting her nostrils to her eyebrows and ear piercings that were the size of a spray can... Upon seeing this "Girl" I chuckled and said, "You guys are out of 1157 bulbs, you have them in amber (1157a), but I would like to have clear ones, 1157"...

She had to have the year, make, model and whether it 2wd or 4wd, motor size, transmission orientation, and what color the truck was in order to find the f#cking 1157 bulb I was asking for... I'm really surprised she didn't ask me if I wanted fries and a Coke!

I explained how none of the vehicle information was going to help the fact that they didn't have the bulb on the shelf. "Do you have them in the back somewhere?"

"Sir" in a really nasty tone, "I need the vehicle information so I can, like uhh, find the, um, correct part numbers" (Think Butthead)

I explained "GM has been using the 1157 since the fifties! 1157 IS the damn part number!" This goofy *** punk-rocker didn't even know what the bulb was, nor did her 17 year old manager, but the problem was neither of them were willing or capable to look in the back for more. Ever seen the movie Idocracy? It has electrolytes... Same idiots.

...I had to walk away, I was about to hurt someone! As I am leaving the store they asked me if I wanted to buy some fuel injector cleaner, becasue it was, "like, the best" as if they were a scientist working in a fuel injector lab... "No, if you can't figure out the complexities of a light bulb, I can't really trust your judgment on injector cleaners! Thanks"

That store is good for buying only one thing... Air fresheners. Although, they may still ask for the make and model!

It's the same in my town, even down to the fuel injector sales pitch at the check out. They are usually 16-18 yrs old, and think they know everything about cars, when I can tell they don't. Or there are some older knowledgeable people, but it takes them forever to work the computer, and usually they can't find it.

What the computer? LMAO... Some old feeble man with a cane slowly shaking and jittering his way around the store looking for the computer! (Think the creepy pedophile old man from Family Guy.) You wanna buy some fuel injector cleaner? I ran this in my Duesenburg when it was new...
