Actually, letting off the gas will take it out of 4x4 mode, as the tires aren't spinning anymore

If I didn't have 4x4 I wouldn't be able to get out of my driveway.

Being a rescue Emt in the North Country we know the value of the Blazer in the snow and I can't ever remember having too pull one out of a snow bank!

You should have NO problem, just remember if you have a snow covered hill in front of you DO NOT hit the brakes during your climb or you might find yourself backing down the hill.

Tires are also a big factor in all this, if your tires are lacking tread than no 4X4 is going to do well in the snow on bald tires.

Best vehicle I've ever driven in the snow was my old 1990 Mazda B2600i 4x4... Winter tires up front, and cheapy wal-mart mudders on the back... Never got stuck in the snow with that sucker.

Getting "stuck" is so subjective to me. I drove through stuff slightly deeper than this with no problem.

Its always been my experience that the wetter and heavier the snow the easier it is to get stuck.

Glass streets are cheap on tires!

4x4 only makes it harder to turn and stop

More weight in the drivetrain... When engaged is always turning = a little longer to stop

Not much longer...

Not like the difference between a 2WD and a 4x4
