OReilly's using the Old Kragen scam??????
UPDATE: I got an APOLOGY for the way I was treated & the issue I had from O Reilly's Corporation. They said that was not their policy & the attitude was also not their policy or was it acceptable to them either. They were contacting the Regional Manager for this Store & the person involved would be talked to by the Regional Manager.
I find that I will not let this kind of thing happen to me without complaining up the chain of command. I find that complaining to the home office gets results, EXCEPT WALMART. So if your tired of the way you get treated in a store go to the Manager & right up the ladder until you feel satisfied your problem is or will be addressed. But also if your going to complain also take the time to pay compliments to those that give you good service. Just yesterday I went to the front office of the RV resort we are staying at & complimented the pool maintenance guy. The Spa was broken & I turned it into the office & the pool guy came out & fixed it right away. I thank him in person & passed on to management how nice he keeps our pools & spa.
Corp has no way of knowing how their customers are treated if people just stop shopping there and don't complain up the ladder. Good job. There are probably dozens of people you'll never meet that will have a better experience at that store because of you, and the fact that headquarters apologized means that I'll shop at my local one again, when they're more convenient than Autozone (half the distance from home, but OReilly is closer to work)
I had a similar experience at O'reillys a year ago. I needed 10 feet of 1/4" fuel line. They claimed the price was $8 a foot and the total was $80 which I knew was unreasonable. I told them to look up the price again and they got snobby and sure enough their computer said $8 a foot. I left the store and went to the autozone across the street and it was $1.50 a foot for a total of $15.
Well, come to the O-Oriely's on West Saginaw highway in Grand Ledge, MI. They are mostly awesome, and always have the parts in store that Advance and Autozone do not. Even spark plugs for my 1978 yammi! However, they do not carry glow plugs for a 1987 Ford Ranger Diesel....in fact, they will sometimes argue with you that they don't exist....
O'Reilly is out of the question as far as my parts shopping goes unless I get there before 5, when they have their best guys there. The store here in town has the most lackadaisical employees I've ever seen. They flat out don't care if you buy anything from them or not.

O'reillys is within 5 miles of my house so I go there for convenience. But I did have an issue with the counter staff not willing to sell my wife a Fram oil filter even thought they carry it. She had to insist and a different counter person had to ring her up. I complained to corporate and never had that issue again. I even got an email response from them. This was for a Toyota minivan with whole bunch of miles and I did not care about brand.
