Well this is one of the few times having some law enforcement background worked out for me...

I got pictures of the area, my vehicle, hers, damage, damage with size refference, overall condition of the vehicle, etc

i did the accident report AND called MY insurance to handle it. As soon as they (the xB owners) had the report in hand they ran off to a body shop to get an estimate. I called the Dealer and it turns out their body shop would do a whole bumper skin painted to match, with replacement impact strip for only only $750. Hell at a dealership, i can barely get Chevy to pull my codes for that

BONUS: when he got back, he was talking to a guy up the hall about how he told the shop he had a body kit and custom paint on his scion etc.... trying to pad the old est... too bad my insurance is sending a claims adjuster to them to see the vehicle AND I supplied them with all of my pictures FTW!

as far as i can see, the only body kits for an 08 xB are fiberglass SoOOOooOO FAIL. glad i carry insurance, and i pay $0 for the accident, but i dont need this guy being a D**k face and trying to pad the est so i end up with a rate spike...

Nice job covering your ***. At least is isn't too bad. I find the fact you owned up to hitting it is honourable and the owner shouldn't be pissed, you could have just taken off and not done anything about it.

yo funny thing about that, when I called my insurance and got the claim guy he was like, "how can I help you?"
"What should I do if i just backed into my boss' wife's car?"
"Drive away."
LMAO!

It should all be sorted out soon though. such is life...

Night of the living Thread...

Either way, as usual at 11:00 pm on a weeknight, I'm heading home from my gf's place after dropping her off, I'm in the left "fast" lane and pulling away from a guy in a neon from the stop light, not racing, just driving normally w/ me enjoying the rumble of Sadie's Magnaflow exhaust. I look in my rear view and see some kid in a riced out Honda Accord (like a 98 or something, not the second to last gen.) I'm catching up to a bus who's got his signal on to pull off to pick up people who's in the curb lane. I see the Accord change lanes and start laughing right... well that's when I hear him stomp on it and just narrowly squeeze between the bus and I (I was expecting this so I was off the throttle at this point, good thing because I had to jam the brakes to let him in while leaning on the horn)... He sped off into the night and blew a red. Right after cutting me off I noticed a big black Tahoe/Suburban with a brush bar and what looked like LED lights on it and thought "wouldn't that be nice if that was a cop?" I wasn't sure though because I know one guy dressed his Tahoe up to look like an unmarked cruiser... Well the Accord in question who sped off also blew a red light, like haaaarrrdcore... The light was red a good 2 seconds before he blew through, almost T-boning an elderly woman in a Buick (stereotype...). That's when that ominous looking Tahoe behind me came to life and my heart skipped a beat... PERFECT! I gladly moved my *** out of his way and watched him storm off after the Accord.

I caught up to him a minute later and slowed right down and stared right at the guy with a HUGE smile on my face and then just drove off. Finally, a cop when I needed one because for the size of the surrounding area, the police force doesn't have enough staff to provide that much of a presence.

I had something that happened to me like this several years ago. It was snowing quite heavily. Heading home from my grandparents house we must have been going too slow for this dude, cuz some guy in a newer Silverado passed us on a two lane road. Instead of seeing him in the ditch 2 miles down the road, he spun out right in front of us, and plowed into the ditch. We didn't stop, because he was an idiot, and probably deserved it.

ah, justice finally served!

i have a story about Saturday night just past, but i actually feel sorry for the dude, as you might see.

Saturday night, i take the wife and the kids to see a 9:10 showing of Iron Man 2 @ Silver City Newmarket. we're on our way home around 11:30pm. but when i'm about 7 minutes from my front door (11:45pm), i come into the little town of Schomberg, and the guy that was easily 400 yards infront of me starts to aply his brakes (it drops from 80 to 70), i switch off my cruise. but then i notice that this guy is still braking, and it looks like he's still right infront of me. by this time i'm now about 150 feet from him, doing about 60-'cause he's making me go, "what the hell is he doing?"-when all of a sudden, this ******* has his car in reverse-IN THE LIVE LANE!!!

i slam on the brakes, hit the highs, and laaaaaaay on the horn! this guy continues backing up, but then yanks it-HARD!-to the right (i'm now stopped in the middle of the intersection) continues backwards still, bounces over the curb, and nails the metal traffic light pole! bounces off about 3 feet (easily), pops it back into drive, and pulls back onto the gravel shoulder. as i slowly pull past him (reaching for my cell to call the OPP) he gets out to look @ the back of his car. i pull over about 100 yards past him, call the OPP. after being on the phone for 3 minutes telling them what just happened, thinking i've got a drunk driver to deal with now, he starts to pull away-right beside another car!

i start moving forward (hey, i didn't want him to risk damaging my Winter Import Bumper ), but then see him pull a U-turn. i follow him-against the operators wishes (i'm not letting someone like that get away easily). the guy seems to be making a really big effort to not break the posted limit of 80.

when we get to the 400 highway, i let the cops know that he's not going on the highway (i stayed on the phone the whole time), but continuing East towards Newmarket (hey, wasn't i just here?). with that i see these red & blue lights come flying up the entrance ramp-THE WRONG WAY! (he was reversing up the ramp).freaked the s**t outta me, but the cop takes off the in the opposite direction. i continue following this guy for another 3 or 4 minutes before the cop catches back up to us. he pulls the guy over another 1 minute later, and the operator asked me to pull in behind the cruiser.

after the 3rd cruiser arrives (and one of those vultures, ie; tow truck), one of the officers came back to my truck, gets my story of what i saw, and then tells me, the driver wasn't drinking, but was a young, inexperienced driver, who says i came up on him "outta nowhere!". the officer didn't buy it. the officer told him, "you admitted to stopping in a live lane, on a highway, and that was your first mistake".

he had 5 girls in the car with him (a new Charger), so the OPP called his Dad to come get him & the car. also called the parents of the "young teenaged girls" (not sure of how many were "young") to come pick up their daughters.

i guess i ruined this guys night, 'cause he sure wasn't getting laid that night!

and i can only imagine the *** reaming that he got once his Dad got him home, and really looked @ the damage to his car.

my son sure learned a lesson that night though.

Got a good laugh last night, I'm sitting at a light waiting and about 0.5 klicks ahead there's a merge from 4-2 lane traffic due to construction. I was in the lane where I wouldn't have to merge. ANYWAY, some kid in a rusted-*** tercel and a parts store fart can pulls up next to me.

After shaking my head the light turns green and he lays in on it. The car sputtered, almost stalled, lurched, screeched, every sound/motion imaginable, and then he took off in the least glorious plume of black smoke and NOISE I've ever seen lmfao. Instead of letting him "beat" me to the merge I decided to stop driving like a granny (I take my time at night, it's a nice cruise) and gave it half throttle to accelerate to the speed limit of 80kph, which I would consider to be normal "highway acceleration"... So before this gets locked there was no racing. Not enough decibels produced, not enough petroleum consumed, and trust me my truck can do both of those excessively well...

As I passed him I was laughing hysterically, "Man that thing's a PIECE"... by no means did I fly by him (would have, but that would have been racing) but I know for a fact they can move well enough, my buddy used to have one with 250K km's on it, and at 90 hp you could still have fun/get into trouble with it and even with goodyear nordics on it he could get it to lay a patch from a stop.
