if you're looking for something that is good for off roading all the time I'd look into the 80's k10 since blazers take a lot of work to make the really trail worthy

thats what I was thinking, do body lift with shackles for a start and there are tons of them around would make finding parts easy, but then again its another vehicle to maintain and pay for.

Also keep in mind what kind of trails you'll be running, the K5's and K10's are great for the sloppy stuff but not so hot in the rocks as compared to a compact blazer.
It depends how much money you're willing to put in, with some lockers you'll be good for alot more stuff.
