Well, I disagree, it is material problem. It is also impossible to fix without changing the whole caliper, moving pistons in and out typically helps but not in this case. I took mine out and fluid inside was full of black powder, looks like some kind of metal. If you read more forum-stories you can see quite many people are having problems with Blazer calipers. Also slider problem is quite common, especially in rear brakes. Something to agree, bad whellhub makes bad noise, stuck caliper does not.

Ha! Everyone thinks they are a material scientist! Well, I'm not going to get into this in this thread cause as you stated in your post above, the noises are entirely different, making this whole line of discussion off topic.

I disagree. I took mine out and noticed that fluid inside contains a lot of black particles, probably some metal. That will make pistons stuck. You can find many forum-stories about Blazer brake calipers. Typically by moving pistons in and out you can make them moving more freely but not in this case. One thing to agree, worn wheelhub makes bad noise, stuck caliper does not.

And one more comment:"ABSOLUTELY NO BEARING ON THIS THREAD" - This thread was about bearing.

Disc brakes ALWAYS rub a tiny little bit... They're self adjusting, that little bit of pressure tells the brakes they're in the right place.
That's why your squealer makes noise even when you're not pressing the brakes.
Stuck calipers will usually either not engage, or get stuck after you've pressed the brakes.
If your brake fluid is full of gunk... You should be changing it.
Unless that gunk is plugging a line, however, it's not likely to freeze a caliper, as it will just get moved along with the rest of the fluid.
Did you confirm those particles you found were metal? Or are you still just assuming they are?

Dont know if Ive said it here, but I prefer AC Delco, Timken, and SKF bearings overall. They are all excellent quality.
