Please make sure you report your findings to help others out in the future! Nothing worse than a thread that doesn't have a solution to the problem at the end

Make sure the ABS sensors are properly installed also. I was working on a late 90s Chevy PU that had a heap of wasted parts thrown at it because the mechanic didn't install the sensor properly.

Heh, I know (well, I hope) I installed them correctly.

So get this. It was the ABS. I unplugged the ABS cable from the front driver's side, took it for a test drive.

While the ABS light on my dash was on, the weird grinding stopped. It runs like brand new now, what with the new wheel wells and brake pads. No more constant noise from the wheel hubs, no more brake squealing, and no more weird grinding when I brake.

So the issue is indeed the ABS on the front driver's side. I'm going to keep it disconnected for now, and I'm going to replace the cable tomorrow and see if that fixes it.

Problem fixed! I replaced the ABS cable on the front drivers side with the new cable that came with the wheel hub, and took it for a test drive.

On my first run around my neighbourhood, the brakes did the ABS-related grinding twice and the ABS light on the dash stayed on (because of me disabling the ABS yesterday). I double checked that the wires were fully plugged in and that they were clean, which they were, then took it out again.

It didn't grind a single time, and the ABS light turned off too! So if you have a weird grinding at the end of your braking, check your ABS cables.

I was going to replace the ABS cable on the front passenger side tire, but I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
