How much can a 2001 Blazer LT Tow?
If I lose my job I will be forced to move down to Florida from NJ, I would like to take as much as I can, Ex Sofa, kitchen table and such.
I've heard that it can pull 1K lbs...
I'd be pulling a uhaul.
Thanks
Jim

Here's what the owner's manual says:

It depends on where your hitch is too. Mine is the stock one...that ball on the bumper itself. If you get one installed underneath to the frame you will be able to haul more.

You still should not exceed the weights from the manual. Those are maximum. If you are using just a bumper hitch ball, you have to stick with the limits stamped on the bumper.

You should definitley consider getting an actual tow hitch installed. I'd try not to use the bumper ball..
(On a side note, people are always talkin about "what's a 2WD truck good for?' Or "if I wanted 2WD I'd have gotten a car." Well mine, a 2dr 2wd can tow the MOST of anything listed in that manual. )
Just thought that'd I point that out

where would i be able to find out how much my blazer tows? i have a 86 4x4 two door automatic with 4.11 gear ratio with the 2.8L V6?

I refuse to put anything more than body weight on my bumper. I've seen WAY too many fail.
As far as the two wheel thing, my Blazer hasn't met any condition that wouldnt be an absolute mess to clean up after that it couldnt handle. The one mudhole I did attempt, it took 9 hrs of cleaning to get it how I wanted. I'm good with just 2wd.

I know with u-haul you can rent the hitch that they install. Then they remove it. I don't want to tow after that.. As every one can tell I don't tow anything with it except for this time with moving to Fl.
Thanks
