I'm starting to think now that the later models have a different bearing diameter on the driver side versus the flanged units. I'm thinking that the inner diameter of the bearing on that side may be bigger than the one that's used on the flanged units.
Sure thing, man! Probably be next week, by the time it gets shipped, and I get around to actually doing it, but I'll take whatever measurements you need

Thanks, no big rush by any means. I'm going to pull the stub shaft from a later model one with the slip style at the yard and see how it compares if it ever stops raining here.

Very nice! A winch is on my want list! 15.5 is a lot of winch! I ran my Jimmy across the the scale at work, with me and some stuff in the back it weighs 4800lbs.

Mine has gone across scales at about the same weight. 3X the trucks weight has got to be able to get me out of just about anything.

Need to clean it up a little, and wash the rope, but it works great far as I can tell. 125' of rope, the stock 100' wire, and an aluminum fairlead. And the controller, of course. Plus, it's waterproof, so that'll be nice.

Sure, it's not a warn, but I got a great deal on it, and I bet it lasts me forever

I've been debating on the harbor freight winch, but been hoping to get lucky and find something on the local classifieds. I still think when I get a winch I'm going to go with a plate to be able to use it in a front or rear receiver. I tend to get stuck where going backwards is the only way out.

Yeah, lots of guys do that. I just don't know how long a receiver pin is gonna stand up to winching. I think they're only rated at like 5k lbs.

"Mine has gone across scales at about the same weight. 3X the trucks weight has got to be able to get me out of just about anything." Or start pulling stuff off!

Never thought of that. I might have to rethink mounting options.

Bring a couple ****** blocks and extra rope/wire, and hope you have some trees or other leverage nearby.
